A wide range of new sounds and many new features are added in this app that enhance the workflow.

Using these tools and features, audio editors, musicians, sound engineers, and sound producers can take their work to the next height. It is the world’s largest selection of pro-quality audio plugins, from the industry’s most popular equalizers, compressors, and analog models, to award-winning reverbs, delays, effects, virtual instruments, surround sound tools, and more. It has every plugin that any sound engineer or musician wants to have. Even with individually calibrated headphones.Waves 13 is a collection of audio plugins which can be used in order to generate new musical ideas. However, for all practical (and probably also theoretical) purposes, it doesn't matter.

There was in fact a very very low volume noise which I could only hear with +48 dB gain on the sum and my headphone amp full up - I assume this was some minor mistake in my procedure (dither or something like that).

Then I summed those and with the phase reversed on one of them and - they null, i.e. So I ran a couple of sweeps through both plugins, once with NX first and Sonarworks second, then vice versa. Now, this intuitively still didn't make sense to me, but since my interest was piqued and I have both Waves NX and Reference 4 with individually calibrated HD650, I decided to run some tests.

This doesn't apply to the readily available average (AVG) headphone profiles in the software which are mono (single correction curve only), however, that would be a complicated detail to communicate and address, thus the safest bet is to ALWAYS put the Sonarworks plugin the last in the chain! This would only apply when using their individually calibrated profiles however, due to them having different EQ curves for the left and right channels: This is because Waves NX infringes Sonarworks L/R correction curves, blends them together, and makes headphone correction unexpectedly distorted. Sonarworks Reference should always be the last signal chain element before audio enters the headphones. Their explanation for this is as follows (quote from a YouTube comment by them): Thanks In advance to any reply regardless of accuracy or experience.Īn additional comment: As some have pointed out, the official stance from Sonarworks is to put their plugin last.

If I drop Nx on my master (with no headphone calibration) and then reference 4 below with my k712 calibration, will that have the same effect? Or would putting it before the Nx mix room be better (simple signal flow question I know but I’m unsure about the implications in changing the master EQ before the mix room) I have Sonarworks Reference which also gives the ability to EQ your master to help neutralise your headphones response, and reference 4 currently does have the support for AKG K712. Is there a way I can import my own headphone IR (K712) to Nx or are there plugins that offer the ability to incorporate my own? I have also noticed that Nx in particular offer headphone correction IR’s for select headphone models, however I use AKG K712 Pro’s for my open back headphone’s and it doesn’t have a preset for that particular model. I know this is not in anyway a replacement however I figured I’d give it a crack. I have been looking into various plugins such as Nx Virtual Mix Room that simulate mix rooms for headphone mixing. The nature of my current occupation (electrician) requires me to travel for a few days here and there which means I don’t have access to my home studio at all times. Can you apply custom headphone EQ’s to Nx Virtual Vix Room or is it better to use reference 4 (before or after?) in addition to Nx?
